Wet granulation is a commonly used granulation process for oral solid preparations, and the core process equipment is a wet mixing granulator. From the design of the mixing paddle and cutter of the granulator, we explore its impact on the performance of the equipment.
Reduce The Dead Angle Of Mixing And Granulation, And Improve The Mixing Effect Of Materials.
During the wet granulation process, there is often a phenomenon of material storage at the root of the stirring paddle and the shaft, and the fixed place of the stirring paddle shaft. There will also be material “slip” above the stirring paddle, and the material is loose and the central mixing tendency is weak. It may directly lead to the results of uneven mixing. For these problems, we provide customers with solutions from the optimal design of the stirring paddle.
- The design of the end of the stirring paddle and the elevation angle greatly reduces the lateral “slip” phenomenon of the material and promotes the mixing of the material evenly.
- The angle design between the stirring paddle and the main shaft minimizes the material storage at the root of the stirring paddle.
- The small-angle shaft cone design in the center of the pot body maximizes material flow and reduces material adhesion.
Reduce The Phenomenon Of Powder Throwing In Granulation And Achieve Uniform Granulation.
Cutter is an important part of wet granulation, and currently the Cross Chopper is the mainstream. During the granulation process, the material often sticks to the lid of the pot, partly due to the high-speed rotation of the cross knife to drive the wet material, and “throw” to the top cover and then adhere. In the production of conventional medicines, the lid of the pot can be opened and the materials can be scraped off with auxiliary tools, but how to deal with the highly toxic and highly active products? Is there any other way to effectively solve the “throwing material” situation? In response to this problem, SENIEER introduced the advanced U-shaped (Tulip Chopper) cutter design concept from Europe and the United States, and proposed solutions from the design of cutter and material movement trajectory.
- The cutting knife adopts a U-shaped design, which can form a “burst” state of granulation.
- During the granulation process, the material will not be driven and thrown to the top cover, which effectively solves the problem of “throwing powder” of the cross knife.
- When it comes to process scale-up from R&D to commercial production, compared to Cross Chopper, U-shaped (Tulip Chopper) can ensure the consistency of the linear speed of the end of the cutter when the different types of granulators are serially designed, so as to give the material almost the same cutting force, thus obtaining a better particle size distribution.
